Step 1 - Search Using SciFinder Scholar
Customers familiar with SciFinder® Scholar know that there are several options when beginning their search for information. You start by selecting the Explore option. If you are not familiar with SciFinder Scholar, click here to learn more.
Step 2 - Explore by Research Topic
Type words or a phrase describing your research topic in the Explore by Research Topic box. Click OK.
Step 3 - SciFinder Scholar Retrieves Candidate Answers
Topic candidates are displayed. We will explore the top group of 61 candidate references. Click Get References.
Step 4 - Get Related Information using eScience
For purposes of illustration we have combined two steps in this graphic. Once you have displayed your answers, you now have the option to conveniently extend your search to the free resources of the web. From your SciFinder Scholar results page first click Get Related and then click the eScience option when the Get Related Information box pops up.
Step 5- Searching with eScience
This is the dynamically generated eScience search page, that launches in a new browser window. Your original search terms have been automatically transferred to the eScience search box. You now have the option of quickly extending your search to the open web using the capabilities of the ChemIndustry.com, Google®, or ChemGuide search engines. In this instance we have chosen to extend the search using Google. Step 5- Web Search Results
